The DFB Disney World 50th Anniversary Cupcake Crawl

In case you’ve been living under a thoroughly NON-magical rock, Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration is going strong! And the anniversary snacks are going even STRONGER!

50 Anniversary Mickey Mouse Popcorn Bucket

Ever since October 1st, Disney’s been stepping up its snack game BIG time, and this is particularly true of one Disney specialty in particular: CUPCAKES.

Cupcakes are an evergreen and omnipresent staple in Disney World, regardless of season or celebration.

Pumpkin Cupcake

We’ve seen cupcake-topped milkshakes, turkey cupcakes (?!), boozy cupcakes, even fudge-filled cupcakes! But since the start of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, we’ve seen a SPREE of dazzling new frosted desserts to feast upon!

YUM

Without further ado, we’ve mapped out the definitive and ultimate DFB Disney World 50th Anniversary Cupcake Crawl! You’re welcome.

Magic Kingdom

Start small with a cute lil’ Chocolate Silk Cupcake at The Crystal Palace, which is part of the Dessert Sampler along with a few other small bites.

French Silk Cupcakes

It’s similar to the French Silk Cupcakes served at the buffet, so you KNOW it’s good.

Our Favorite Magic Kingdom Restaurants

Animal Kingdom

50th Anniversary Celebration Cupcakes are ALL OVER Animal Kingdom, including at Creature Comforts, where you can pair your coffee with a lemon-filled, vanilla-frosted cupcake topped with a Mickey and 50th medallion!

50th Celebration Cupcake

Over at Flame Tree Barbecue, they’re going a little cupcake-crazy…and we’re here for it. In addition to a new Scar Cupcake, the restaurant has a 50th Anniversary Celebration Cupcake of its own, made with Lemon Cake, Lemon Chiffon Filling, and Vanilla Frosting with Celebration Sprinkles, a Splatter-coated Chocolate Mickey (lol), and a Gold-dusted medallion!

Scar Cupcake

You can find the same cupcake over at Restaurantosaurus, along with a Maleficent Cupcake that casually lists Dragon Blood as an ingredient…

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

One of the most beautiful 50th Anniversary cupcakes we’ve crawled to so far is the version at Good’s Food To Go at Disney’s Old Key West Resort! It’s a Vanilla Cupcake with Blackberry Sauce, White Chocolate Mousse, a White Chocolate Surprise, and Vanilla Buttercream with Dark Chocolate Mickey Ears and Cocoa Butter Spray!

Spoiler: the “surprise” involves a white chocolate sphere filled with sprinkles!

A FUN Surprise!

Special shoutout to another STUNNING new treat: the Creme Brûlée Eclair! We have room in our hearts (and our bellies) for both.

BoardWalk Inn

Marshmallow Cream AND Birthday Cake Mousse?! Just take our money, BoardWalk Bakery.

VERY sweet

The 50th Celebration Cupcake at this always-adorable bakery is as pretty as it is SUGARY, made with Vanilla Cake, Marshmallow Cream, Birthday Cake Mousse, and Gold Crisp Pearls. Makes us want to take a nap just listing that out…

REVIEW: SUGAR RUSH ALERT 🚨 We’re Definitely Gonna Crash After This Disney Cupcake.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Ever the over-achiever, our fave Contempo Cafe has doubled down with TWO new desserts for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, including a Peanut Butter-Banana Pie (yum) and a HOT take on the 50th Celebration Cupcake parade!

German Chocolate Cupcake

This version is a German Chocolate Cupcake made with chocolate cake, German chocolate filling, and buttercream, topped with a chocolate Disney’s Contemporary Resort 50th Anniversary piece, and a white chocolate curl!

REVIEW: Disney World Said “Do Better.” This Treat Said “Absolutely.”

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds

Is that a chicken leg on our cupcake?!” is not a sentence we’d ever thought we’d say, but it’s Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration and ALL BETS ARE OFF. Case in point: the “Chicken Dinner” cupcake trio at P&J’s Southern Takeout! Brace.

Chicken Dinner Trio Cupcakes

Don’t worry, none of these cupcakes actually contain chicken, they’re just designed after different components from a classic Chicken Dinner, including a Fried Chicken Cupcake made with an Apple Fritter, Apple Pie Moonshine Filling, and Vanilla Buttercream.

Is That Fried Chicken?!

Then there’s the Peas and Carrots Cupcake, with Strawberry Moonshine Custard, White Chocolate Frosting, and M&M’S Mini “Peas.” Okay, cute!

Peas & Carrots Cupcake

Last but not least is the best part of any Chicken Dinner: the mashed potatoes! The Mock Mashed Potato Cupcake is a Snickers Mousse Cupcake with Caramel Buttercream and Starburst “Butter.”

Mashed Potatoes Cupcake!

Oh, you thought a trio of Chicken-inspired cupcakes was enough? P&J’s Southern Takeout isn’t done yet! They’ve also got a decidedly more dessert-sounding cupcake for the 50th Anniversary: the Campfire S’more Cupcake!

The S’more Cupcake at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

It’s a Graham Cracker Cupcake with chocolate mousse filling, an Italian meringue, a piece of white chocolate on top with a Chip ’n’ Dale design, and a piece of Hershey’s milk chocolate for good measure.

The Million Dollar Question: Should a Disney World Brownie Be Cakey or Fudgy

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

We have a special place in our heart for the 50th Anniversary “EARidescent” Cupcake at Gasparilla Island Grill, because it was our FIRST cupcake of the anniversary! And it’s a goodie!

50th Anniversary Mickey EARidescent Cupcake

As pretty as it is tasty, it’s a Vanilla Cupcake filled with Lemon Curd, topped with Blueberry Mousse, and enrobed in EARidescent Glaze for a bit of shimmer! Also, we love a treat with White Chocolate Ears, because everything tastes better with Ears!

Giant Cake Pops and S’mores Cookies? Say No More Disney, We’re So There

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Last but certainly not least, perhaps the most EPIC 50th Celebration Cupcake is the version we found at Capt. Cook’s. Drum roll please for…the DOLE Whip Cupcake!

Hey, Disney, is that Dole Whip IN our cupcake?

It’s basically a Disney dessert-inspired Disney dessert, featuring a Vanilla Cupcake with DOLE Whip Pineapple Center, Tropical Fruit Salsa, and a Pineapple Macaron!

There’s Dole Whip IN our cupcake!

That’s right, it’s a DOLE Whip-filled Cupcake and we can’t think of a tastier way to celebrate Disney World’s 50th Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary!

Now that the celebration is well underway, consider this your ULTIMATE bucket list for sweet treats in Disney World!
