REVIEW: Forget the Figment Popcorn Bucket — We’d Wait Hours For This Grilled Cheese in EPCOT

Get ready, DFB readers, it’s time for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! There’s TONS of food to try, popular souvenirs to track down, and cool performances to see, and we’re covering everything you need to know.

Festival of the Arts

We’re visiting all of the booths around EPCOT today, and we’ll keep you updated with the best eats and drinks out there. Right now, we’re taking a look at a Festival of the Arts booth that’s known to be very POPular (pun intended).

Did you get our joke? ‘Cause we’re visiting the Pop Eats! booth in EPCOT right now!

Pop Eats! Food Studio Booth 2022

This spot is actually the #1 destination in EPCOT right now, because this is where you’ll find the new Figment popcorn bucket. Guests are lined up and waiting for hours to get their hands on that cutie, but we’ll show you more about that in just a minute.

Menu

Pop Eats! is a Festival of the Arts booth known for bright, dynamic dishes based on the pop art of legends like Andy Warhol (you’ll even find tomato soup inspired by Warhol’s iconic piece!). In the past, we’ve really enjoyed just about everything we’ve tried here, so we expect big things!

Pop Eats! Menu 2022

Many of the main popular dishes from years past — including the Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese and the Almond Frangipane Cake — have returned to the menu alongside NEW dishes like the Tomato Soup with Bacon, Apple, and Brie Grilled Cheese. This is also where you’ll find both the Figment Popcorn Bucket for $25

…and the new Figment spork for $2.50.

Of course we picked up both — they’re too cute to resist. But now let’s dig into the FOOD!

Food

The Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese is one of the booth’s most popular dishes, with the soup in a Warhol-inspired can and a delicious little grilled cheese on the side. This one is available for $5.25. We loved the simple flavors of this combo last year, with the tangy soup and sharp cheese complementing each other perfectly.

If you want to take your dish to the next level, this year there’s a NEW grilled cheese–tomato soup combo.

New Pop Eats! Grilled Cheese with Bacon, Apple, and Brie

The Tomato Soup with Bacon, Apple, and Brie Grilled Cheese is a spin on the booth’s über popular tomato soup dish, featuring an elevated version of that yummy grilled cheese. You can get this dish for $6.25.

Holy cow. You guys, this grilled cheese was AMAZING. The crust and bread were very buttery, and the combination of flavors and textures from all the ingredients inside were *chefs kiss* perfection. The brie was nutty, the bacon was salty, and the apple was crisp and tart. All together, the sandwich was to die for. And then you dip it in the creamy tomato soup?? We’re never going to get over how much we loved this.

Both of the sweets are returning desserts, and we’ve really enjoyed these in years past. The Almond Frangipane Cake is layered with Raspberry Jam and Belgian Chocolate. This cake is available for $4.50. The cake’s geometric design is super modern and very artsy.

The Pop’t Art (get it?) is a Modern-Designed Sugar Cookie with Chocolate-Hazelnut Filling and features a cool geometric design. You can get this one for $4.50.

Pop’t Art: Modern-designed sugar cookie with chocolate-hazelnut filling

It’s basically a fancy pop tart, and we’re definitely not mad about that. It’s actually a little more dense than normal pop tarts, both in the crust and the filling. The filling was definitely heavy on the chocolate (more than the hazelnut), so if you like chocolate then this is the dessert for you.

We have to say that we prefer the Lunch Box Tarts at Woody’s Lunch Box in Disney’s Hollywood Studios over this treat (they’re very similar concepts). We just think the crust is a little better over at Woody’s, but we still enjoyed this one! And we think the Festival of the Arts version will be a big hit with kids because of the fun designs on top and simple flavors.

Of course, one of the major appeals of this booth is the Figment Premium Popcorn Bucket with Rainbow Popcorn! Featuring the mascot of the Festival of the Arts, this is a great find for any popcorn bucket collectors out there.

Figgy is here, too!

Figgy comes filled with rainbow popcorn, which is pre-packaged.

The popcorn is pretty much your normal sugar-coated popcorn. The flavor reminds us of fruity cereal, so it’ll likely be a favorite among kids!

Of course we’ll share with Figment!

You can also get refills at popcorn stands around Disney World.

Beverages

The Tomato Soup Can Bloody Mary is returning this year, and we’re so glad that it is!

This has been one of our favorite drinks in the past, and we consider it a must-get for Bloody Mary fans. You can get one for $14 this year.

Brooklyn Brewery Pulp Art Hazy IPA is also available at this stand for $5/$9 (depending on which size you get).

Overall

If you’re looking to just get the eats and drinks at this booth (and not the merchandise collectibles), you might want to wait a couple of days for the crowds to calm down. Figment’s popcorn bucket is a VERY hot ticket item, and the line for this booth is a multi-hour wait for that reason.

Pop Eats! Spread

That being said, we think the eats and treats here are very delicious. Like years past, we definitely recommend stopping by Pop Eats! if the line isn’t too long. And you absolutely should get that new grilled cheese when you do!

That’s all we’ve got from the Pop Eats! booth‘s delicious treats. We’re always keeping up with the latest Disney news, including the best info about the Festival of the Arts, so stay tuned here for more.
