Welcome to a very chilly and very crowded Saturday here at the Universal Orlando Resort. It’s going to be a busy day, so let’s get started and head over to Universal Studios Florida first.
The cold didn’t stop guests from coming out to enjoy the parks. Everyone was either bundled up or buying sweatshirts and gloves in the gift shop first thing in the morning, though.
Even with the cold temperatures, the park was packed. We haven’t seen lines like these in a while. It was busy, but wait times weren’t too high.
This new wall art is perfect for fans of “Back to the Future.” It has a lot of great details. Take a closer look in our post here.
As soon as we arrived in Diagon Alley, we noticed it was much busier than usual, and many guests were dressed up.
Universal no longer holds the Celebration of Harry Potter, but fans have kept the tradition alive by having an unofficial gathering. Fans came out for this “uncelebration” to show their love of the Wizarding World. Universal does not allow costumes to be worn in the parks, but during this weekend it seems that the rules are a little more relaxed. Hopefully, fans will be able to continue this tradition in the future. It was a great afternoon for us to see so many unique cosplays.
Islands of Adventure was open later than Universal Studios, so it seemed to be a lot busier late in the day.
A lot of new Mardi Gras merchandise is available, but this bomber jacket is one of our favorite items so far. It’s very lightweight and perfect for an evening in the park watching the parade or a concert.
The lines for food have been crazy today. We haven’t seen it like this since the holidays, but we’re looking forward to having more options when the Mardi Gras food booths open.
Time to kick back and relax. Thanks for joining us today around the parks. Make sure you stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for all the latest updates!
