Things are always changing around Disney World, and it can sometimes seem hard to keep up!

Spaceship Earth

That’s why we’re here — to share the latest news, exclusives, and everything else you need to know to make your Disney trip a success. And today, we’re bringing you an update on all the areas of Disney World that are currently under construction!

Magic Kingdom

Splash Mountain

It’s not unusual for water-based attractions to close during the winter months, and that’s the case here with Splash MountainThe popular ride has been closed since the beginning of January for routine maintenance. We stopped by and there was still quite a bit of scaffolding around the mountain.

Looks like more scaffolding!

And we’re still not seeing any water flowing through the ride either!

It’s not Splash Mountain if you can’t get splashed…

Splash Mountain is scheduled to reopen on February 11th, 2022. But don’t forget, it will eventually be re-themed after The Princess and the Frog!

TRON: Lightcycle Run

If it feels like we’ve been talking about TRON: Lightcycle Run for years, it’s because we legitimately have. We’ve been seeing a lot of progress on the canopy structure, and that seems to still be the case this week.

That’s progress!

Here’s another angle that also shows crews hard at work on the building structure portion of the ride!

Unfortunately, we still don’t have an official opening date for TRON: Lightcycle Run — so stay tuned for more updates!

EPCOT

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

We brought you a pretty big update on this new attraction recently, and we’re still seeing more progress on the Nova Corps Starblaster ship that marks the front of the ride.

This thing is HUGE

Crews were working closely on the details of the wings when we stopped by this week.

Look how tiny the workers look next to the ship!

If all goes according to Disney’s plan, we’ll be able to ride this attraction this summer 2022!

World Celebration

There’s not too much to report on the EPCOT Transformation here this week; we’re still seeing the green scrims along the fence and the scaffolding appears to be moving along with the construction.

We’re still not sure what Disney is planning for this location or when it might be completed, so be sure to check back here for updates.

Starbucks

We’re not quite sure what’s going on behind this fence, or how long it will stick around!

What’s going on back there?

We’re keeping a close eye on this area (and it’s totally not because we have a Starbucks addiction) so stay tuned!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Toy Story Mania Gift Shop

We reported that the doors to the Toy Story Mania Gift Shop were closed on a recent visit, and that appears to still be the case!

Is this the future home of Jessie’s Trading Post?

Cast Members have yet to confirm why the shop was closed or when we could see it open again, but we think it might have to do with the new Jessie’s Trading Post that was announced as part of the Woody’s Roundup Rodeo opening.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Dinosaur!

The fountain is still drained, and poor Aladar has yet to be repainted.

Poor Aladar

Fortunately, the construction at the entrance of this attraction has not affected the ride itself, so you can still enjoy (or fear) it! We’re keeping a close eye

Restaurantosaurus

The deck seating area at Restaurantosaurus has been walled off for refurbishment.

But, have no fear, because you can still order food from the counter service spot during construction!

Progress!

We don’t have confirmation on when Disney plans on wrapping up this project, but you can bet we’ll be keeping an eye out for updates!

Disney Resorts

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

On a recent visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, we noticed that the Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village was closed!

Samawati Springs Pool

According to the Disney website, the pool is closed for refurbishment and will reopen in April 2022.

Guests can still go for a swim in the Uzima Springs Pool at Animal Kingdom’s Jambo House, however.

Well, there you have it! This week’s Disney World construction update. We’re in the parks every day bringing our readers updates, so be sure to stay tuned for everything you need to know!
