When we think of Valentine’s Day treats, our mind goes straight to chocolate and strawberries — what about you? Of course, chocolate and strawberries (and chocolate-COVERED strawberries) are Valentine’s Day classics for a reason, but what if we decided to branch out this year? Should we dare?

Disneyland is serving all the classic Valentine’s Day treats one would expect, but today we’re trying another Valentine’s Day dessert! The question is: how does it compare to our staple snacks?

While a chocolate donut might not scream LOVE the way some other treats do, we were intrigued by this little guy! It’s got some cute little decorations, and we love chocolate, so let’s try it.

Okay, so honestly, this tasted like one of those chocolate Hostess donuts you can get at the grocery store. The chocolate was nice and rich and the donut was pretty dense (especially considering how small it was), but it wasn’t anything mind-blowing or earth-shattering. Was it worth the price? Probably not — though we did like the taste!

Overall, (and we should have seen this coming) the donut was pretty basic! It’s a chocolate donut, plain and simple. You can try the new Valentine’s Day donut at the Craftsman Grill in the Grand Californian Hotel for $7.50! In the meantime, stay tuned for all the latest Disney news and reviews.
