We don’t know about you, but it’s hard to remember a time when EPCOT wasn’t under so much construction.
We’re so used to seeing construction walls at EPCOT
Yes, it’s only been a few years since the great EPCOT transformation began, but we’ve become so used to construction walls at the park that it’s almost all we remember. We are, though, excited about all the new things left to come to the park like the Moana Journey of Water attraction, the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride, and Connections Cafe and Eatery.
Okay, so we’re probably MOST excited about Connections Cafe because FOOD. We don’t even know exactly what KIND of food this upcoming quick-service location will have, but we can’t wait to learn more about it. Back in November 2021, Disney World shared concept art giving us a sneak peek at what the restaurant will look like when it’s completed.

Since it was announced, we’ve been following the construction of Connections Cafe at EPCOT — at least how much of it we can see behind the large construction walls where it sits. We’ve seen it slowly begin to take shape… .
There’s definitely something there!
From what we’ve seen so far, we have a good idea of what its shape will be and how the outside will have an overhang. There’s also a large square at the front that we can guess is the entrance.

Today, we checked up on some of the progress to see what’s going on. The inside ceiling now has lights installed on it (although it seems more need to be installed) and it looks like they’re working on or near the windows that have been put in. Construction was pretty loud while we visited EPCOT today, so keep that in mind when visiting the park.
Work is moving along
So construction on Connections Cafe is moving along. Disney has not yet released a timeline on when we might expect this new restaurant to open, but you can bet we’ll let you know as soon as we find out! In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!
