Fresh Paint Spruces Up The Lost Continent at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

We noticed more refurbishments underway on a recent visit to Universal’s Islands of Adventure! Several parts of The Lost Continent were looking as good as new with fresh coats of paint.

Team Members recently repainted this golden octopus outside of the seasonally-changing Halloween shop (currently the All Hallows Voodoo Boutique) at The Lost Continent.

They also repainted the totem pole-style directory sign near the front of the land.

This sign points guests towards Jurassic Park, Toon Lagoon, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Poseidon’s Fury, which recently had some of its fountains turned back on!

The faces on this side appear to be a deeper brown than what we saw previously.

Even the planter beds at The Lost Continent got fresh paint! Previously, these rocks were monochromatic red. Now, they have a little more color variation and interest. Things are often repainted in bolder, brighter colors than intended to account for the inevitable fading from the Florida sun.

These nearby rocks have not yet been painted, but for the sake of comparison, this is the previous color scheme of rocks in the area.
