Largescale events are still up in the air due to the global health crisis.
With continued circumstances in Florida and around the world, some decisions continue to be made about the viability of safety during events. Today, runDisney announced that the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will be transitioned to a virtual race this year.
The virtual race will be one that runners can run from home or their local running spot. Eligible runners who compete in the virtual race will receive a shirt and medal for each distance they complete, similar to the 2020 runDisney Virtual Series this summer.
For those already-registered runners, there are two options. Registered guests can opt to wither receive a full refund for the race or convert their existing registration to the virtual event. Those who select the refund option will receive a refund for race registrations, commemorative merchandise, ChEAR Squad, and the processing fee. Refunds can be expected in six to eight weeks.
If you have a valid U.S. shipping address, you can transfer your existing registration to the virtual race. Based on your registration, you will receive race distance medals, runner long sleeve shirts and kids short sleeve shirts, a digital bib and finisher certificate, a digital toolkit, a digital goody bag, a virtual playlist, and/or a Disney Gift Card.
If you have already been refunded, you can still register for the virtual race by contacting runDisney by August 5th. If you have any questions or trouble with your runDisney Wine & Dine virtual event registration, you can reach out to the runDisney via the Contact Us page on the website or by calling (407) 939-4786.
