REVIEW: Pretzel Bun and Cheddar Cheese Sauce? That’s All We Needed to Know, Disneyland. We’re In!

The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival is BACK for 2022, and we’re trying all kinds of dishes!

Craft Brews booth

This festival takes place from March 4th to April 26th, 2022, at Disney California Adventure, but many of the booths opened a little early. We’ll be checking out all the new merchandise and entertainment that’s coming as well. But our priority is the food of course! We’re at the booth that’s ALL about craft brews, so let’s get a drink (or two)!

Menu

The menu for California Craft Brews has one food dish and LOTS of adult beverages. The IPA Sausage Dog is a new snack to try, and there are 16 different craft brews along with hard seltzer and cider.

Shall we dig in?

Food

We had to try the only (and NEW) dish on the California Craft Brews menu, which is the IPA Sausage Dog, served on a soft pretzel roll with onion-pepper Jardinière, cheddar cheese sauce, and malt vinegar-jalapeño crunch for $7.

IPA Sausage Dog

This snack was one of our favorite eats so far! It was so tasty with LOTS of different flavors and textures that all worked well together. The pretzel roll was soft and fresh, and there was plenty of gooey cheese sauce (which you know is important to us). The sausage had a great texture as well, and it reminded us a little of a kielbasa.

This was delicious!

We loved that snack, but at the booth known for drinks, it’s time to grab one!

Drinks

Prices for drinks range from $10.25 to $17, and they include a range of California craft brews. If you enjoy beer, you can probably find something you like here! Or you can try a little of everything with the flights. The Bright & Balanced Beer Flight includes Mexican-Style Lager, Boysenberry Lemonade Hard Seltzer, Tiki Time Tropical Wheat, and Tropical Hideaway for $17.

Plenty of craft brew options here!

The Bigger & Bolder Beer Flight includes a Hazy Double IPA, Aloha Sculpin Hazy IPA, a Fruited IPA, and an Imperial Red IPA, and it cost $17 as well. You can also get those drinks on their own, and prices range from $13 to $15.95 for individual beers.

We tried out the Boysenberry Lemonade Hard Seltzer by Brewery X for $10.25. This seltzer actually surprised us. We thought it would be a little more bubbly and fruity, but it tasted a lot like red wine. It wasn’t our favorite drink at this booth, but if you love red wine then you’d probably enjoy it!

Boysenberry lemonade hard seltzer

And we ordered the Yondershop Hard Cider by Ficklewood for $15.25. We preferred this drink to the seltzer, especially since it tasted a lot more like a beer to us. It was closer to what we were expecting from a craft brew booth. The flavor was a little bit bitter, and we think most hard cider fans will enjoy it.

Yonderhop Hard Cider

And if you want to have a bit of fun with your drink, you can order a Red or Green Grapes Cube Charm for $5.50!

Overall

We enjoyed the hard cider here, but our favorite thing was definitely that IPA Sausage Dog! We might be a little bit biased (because we’re bound to love anything covered in liquid cheese), but we think it was a delicious snack. If you’re looking for a variety of brew options, though, you probably can’t go wrong at this booth. They have several different choices available, and those flights are a great way to try a sip of a few different flavors.
