REVIEW: Is It Just đŸ”„TOO HOTđŸ”„ To Eat At This Beloved EPCOT Restaurant?!

Is anyone else feeling particularly cozy right now? No? Well, we might be able to fix that with this review!

Rose and Crown Dining Room Eats

We’re heading to World Showcase in EPCOT and journeying “across the pond” to the United Kingdom Pavilion to try out a spot that is somehow BOTH popular AND under-the-radar: Rose and Crown Dining Room. Known for fireworks views, hearty eats, and flawless British vibes, this restaurant is certainly one to consider on your next Disney trip. So, let’s see how it’s holding up!

Rose and Crown is a delightful restaurant located in the U.K. Pavilion. This spot does double duty. The front of the building is an attached pub while the back half is the full sit-down restaurant offering. Get ready for a menu of pub-style favorites plus an AWESOME selection of beers and pub blends!

Rose and Crown Dining Room

We typically love this restaurant for its reasonable prices, cozy atmosphere, and great service. But, should YOU make a reservation for your EPCOT day?

Atmosphere

To find out, let’s start by taking a look at the atmosphere. Rose and Crown sits RIGHT on World Showcase Lagoon.

Rose and Crown Dining Room

During the day, that means great views of the water and at night, great views of the fireworks!

Rose and Crown Dining Room

The atmosphere is very comfortable both inside and out on the patio. If it’s a nice day out, we LOVE sitting outside.

Rose and Crown Dining Room

You can find the seating on two floors. The top floor is covered by an awning and the uncovered tables on both floors feature umbrellas. Still, it might not be the comfiest during a rainstorm.

Most of the seating is standard tables and chairs inside and out.

Your place setting is a QR code menu and a paper napkin with a set of utensils.

But enough about the atmosphere! We sure hope you’re hungry!

Eats

Let’s take a look at the lunch menu full of British favorites! The menu is mostly unchanged from our last visit last year. There are a few small Appetizer options and a small but mighty selection of British Entrees. The Sides choices are limited but can be a good addition to a meal.

You’ve also got a small Desserts selection! We gotta say, that Sticky Toffee Pudding looks prettyyyyy good.

This Kid’s Menu here is, similar to many locations at Disney World, a “choose your own adventure” type situation.

Now let’s talk about those DRINKS. This is a pub after all! You’ve got a selection of Non-Alcoholic Beverages, but you can go for some Specialty Cocktails as well and even an Irish Whiskey Flight!

©Disney

You can also grab a 2-ounce pour of your Scotch Whisky or Cognac of choice. But the main event here is the BEER. You can choose from the Ales, Lagers, and Stouts

or the EXTENSIVE list of Pub Blends.

If none of that is striking your fancy, you can always swing for a Specialty Coffee or glass of Wine!

After taking in the menu for ourselves, we started with the Scotch Egg for $13.

Scotch Egg

This eat is a Golden-fried Hard-boiled Cage-free Egg wrapped in Sausage with Mustard Sauce.

Scotch Egg

We loved this appetizer! It was salty sausage, beautifully fried and wrapped around a perfectly-cooked hard-boiled egg. We didn’t find it greasy and the sausage and egg went really well together.

Scotch Egg

It was a BIT pricy for just one Scotch Egg, but if you tend to like this kind of thing, you’ll enjoy it! Warning though, we would say this is MAX shareable between two people, no more.

Scotch Egg

Our first entree was the Bangers and Mash for $22.

Bangers and Mash

This is another VERY classic dish made with Traditional English Sausage with Colcannon Potatoes, Mushroom, Onion, and Red Wine Demi.

Bangers and Mash

One word: YUM! The demi was SO flavorful and the mushrooms and onions added a delightful hearty flavor to the dish. This is certainly FILLING. The sausage and potatoes were a great base but the real reason this dish is a winner is that sauce.

Bangers and Mash

If you’re looking for a heavier meal with more comforting flavors, the Bangers and Mash could be the choice for you!

Bangers and Mash

We also tried out the Shepherd’s Pie for $23. Yep, we’re really sticking to the British basics this time.

Shepherd’s Pie

This Shepherd’s Pie is made with Ground Beef, Seasonal Vegetables, English Peas, and Mashed Potatoes with McCall’s Irish Cheddar.

Shepherd’s Pie

This is a very traditional dish and the flavors come off as familiar and cozy. It had AWESOME flavor without overpowering the veggies and beef in the dish. On a cooler night, this could be perfect.

Shepherd’s Pie

Still, on a HOT Florida afternoon, this one’s a little too warm and heavy. But it’s a VERY large portion and we expect it could be easily shared for lunch as long as you weren’t TOO hungry.

Shepherd’s Pie

And our final entree was the Welsh Pub Burger for $22.

Welsh Pub Burger

This mostly classic burger is an Angus Beef Patty with Beer Cheese Sauce, Bacon, and Beer-battered Leeks served with a side of Branston Mayonnaise.

Welsh Pub Burger

We just have to get this out of the way: We loved the fried leeks! They were a very cool twist on fried onions. The burger was a bit more cooked than we requested, but it was still juicy and had a nice flavor.

Welsh Pub Burger

Unfortunately, ours was also missing the beer cheese sauce but the Branston mayo was AMAZING! It was like a mix of mayo and Thousand Island Dressing. We recommend putting some of it on your burger and dunking your chips (A.K.A. fries here). If you run out, you can always ask for more.

Welsh Pub Burger

We wrapped up our meal with the Sticky Toffee Pudding for $9.

Sticky Toffee Pudding

This dessert is Steamed Pudding “Cake” served with Warm Vanilla Custard and Hot Butter-Rum Sauce. We’re PUMPED for this one.

Sticky Toffee Pudding

This is a rich and delicious dessert that’s super fun. We might’ve preferred ice cream to the custard, but the custard also makes it more traditional to the United Kingdom. It was a smaller portion but could still be shared between two people and the hot rum sauce was rich without being overly sweet!

Sticky Toffee Pudding

On a cooler evening watching the fireworks this would be PERFECT, but in the middle of a long park day, the warm dessert might not be your go-to. Kids might also not love this one since you can pick up on those rum flavors. If you’re looking for something cooler, head to L’Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion for some ice cream!

Sticky Toffee Pudding

Oh boy, are we full! So let’s talk about if you should eat at this spot.

Nosh or Not

You SHOULD pop into Rose and Crown Dining Room if

  • You love British food! This spot does comforting and hearty eats RIGHT.
  • You’re VERY hungry or want something shareable. Rose and Crown has a handle on heavy and filling eats!
  • You want to sit on the water. Rose and Crown is one of the best spots to sit on the water in EPCOT!

You should SKIP Rose and Crown Dining Room if

  • If you want a lighter meal. Almost ALL of the eats at Rose and Crown are on the heavier side.
  • You don’t want hot food. Florida is HOT and the food at Rose and Crown probably won’t help cool you off at all. It is great comfort food. So booking this spot in the winter would be a GREAT option!
  • You’re just looking for Fish and Chips. Rose and Crown is a lengthier experience during your EPCOT day. You can get grab and go Fish and Chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop next door.

Overall

We had a delightful time at Rose and Crown Dining Room — as usual! This is one of our favorite casual table-service spots in EPCOT and with good reason. You can’t beat the cozy vibes of both the food and the atmosphere.

Our one complaint here is that the food is HOT and Florida is HOT right now. With such heavy eats, Rose and Crown really sticks out more as a dinner restaurant than a lunch spot or a spot you head when the temperatures cool down quite a bit. We’d much rather gorge ourselves on British eats in the evening when there’s less of the day ahead of us — not eat heavy, rich, warm foods, and then walk EPCOT in the heat.

All around though, this is a great place with amazing views and we’ve been happy every time we eat here. Even if lunch is a pass most of the time, it’s nice not to feel rushed or like you need to be fancy. The restaurant is homey and the food is good, and that keeps us coming back.
