What’s New in Animal Kingdom: Small COVID-19 Changes and a Baby Yoda Merch Restock

We spend a lot of time in the Disney parks… . I mean, a LOT of time so we can be the first to know about the latest updates and changes. And then, we can share those updates with YOU!

Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom

We recently spent some time in Animal Kingdom and are here to bring you all the latest news from Disney’s wildest park!

First thing’s first: crowd update! Spring breakers are still flocking to Disney World, so we were happy to see that the morning in Animal Kingdom wasn’t too hectic, but by noon, the crowds had arrived and things were starting to look busier.

Animal Kingdom Food Updates

Caravan Road

Here at DFB, we love all things food, so we’ll start with food updates! Caravan Road, found in Asia, is rarely open, but when it is, it serves up some of the best snacks to beat that Disney World heat.

Caravan Road Operates Under Limited Hours

We talked to Cast Member who told us that its hours and whether or not it’s open is dependent on the weather and crowd levels, which is why it does not have a set schedule. So for now, we’ll just have to hope it’s open when we visit and that more regular hours are coming!

Animal Kingdom Construction Update

We are noticing that a lot of the plexiglass in the stores has been taken down around the park.

No more plexiglass!

We’ll keep our eye out to see if we notice this happening anywhere else around Disney World!

You can read more about the removal of plexiglass at dining locations here!

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates

Riverside Depot

Do you remember that Baby Yoda hat with the moving ears we spotted last year? Well, we are happy report that they are back in stock at Riverside Depot!

We also spotted a pack of Tomorrowland-themed PopSockets.

Finally, we noticed two of the new Limited Edition pins, as well. We’ve also seen them in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, as well.

Limited Edition pins at Riverside Depot

The first is an Easter pin with Cinderella Castle nestled in an Easter basket…

…and the second is this Star Wars pin!

Both pins are available for $19.99.

And that’s everything new at Animal Kingdom! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates from the parks!
