When the Disney World Resort hotels and theme parks began their phased reopening, we knew there would be some limitations as to what was available.
And that included changes to Disney transportation. It was announced that the water taxi services would be limited, and would only be offered from select resorts to Magic Kingdom. Today, however, we noticed some activity that indicates the water taxis are slowly ramping up!
The boat launch is open and welcoming guests back to be taken BACK to select resorts!
We checked it out for ourselves and noticed a few new safety procedures in place. Each resort that is currently being serviced by the boat transportation system (Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground) has its own designated lane for guests to queue.
While in line, there are physical distancing floor markers to keep travel parties separated. These markers are staggered between the lanes, so parties aren’t standing side-by-side.
As you approach the launch itself, the lines split off into a shaded holding area while you wait for your boat to arrive.
The floor markers continue throughout the boat launch area, keeping parties distanced while boarding the boats.
So, it looks like even more transportation options are becoming available for guests to take advantage of when traveling around Disney World!
