REVIEW: Honolulu Hot Dog is a Tropical Twist on a Classic Snack from The Hideaway at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a great place for families to kick back and relax when visiting the Universal Orlando Resort. With two pools, a bowling alley, a lazy river, and more, there’s tons to do at Cabana Bay. If you’re spending the day by the pool, the Hideaway is a great place to grab a quick bite or a refreshing drink. The menu has a few unique items here, too, including the Honolulu Hot Dog.

Honolulu Hot Dog – $9.49

Pineapple Bacon Sausage, Passion Fruit Mustard, Lemon Garlic Sauce

This is a pineapple bacon sausage with passion fruit mustard and lemon garlic sauce, served in a “no mess” sweet bread pocket with seasoned crinkle cut fries. Let’s dive in.

This snack is perfectly portable and is served in a bread pocket that helps keep the sauces inside. It’s a sweet, Hawaiian-style bread that pairs perfectly with the pineapple bacon sausage inside.

The lemon is the strongest flavor to come through, followed by passion fruit. There was a lot of sauce, but we dipped the fries in the extra. This is a really unique twist on your typical poolside hot dog.

We highly recommend this Honolulu Hot Dog, especially if you’re looking for a sweet and savory bite by the pool. Take a break from the parks, float around the lazy river, and enjoy this Honolulu Hot Dog from The Hideaway on your next stay at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
