The face mask policies have changed several times in Disney World over the past couple of years, and now, they have changed once again.

When Disney World first reopened in July of 2020, face masks were required almost everywhere. That later changed to face masks becoming optional outside, and then again becoming optional almost everywhere for vaccinated guests. The only place that has kept mask requirements in place for everyone (ages 2 and older) was on enclosed transportation like the Monorail. But, that has now changed.

Disney announced recently that masks are no longer required on any transportation in Disney World. The mask requirement had previously been lifted on the Disney Skyliner and other open transportation, but now, masks are not required on any form of Disney transportation.

So, we checked out what Disney transportation looks like now that this new policy is in effect. Face mask signage has been removed from the entrance to the Express Monorail at Magic Kingdom.

While at the Monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we noticed that the signage here has also been removed.

And, there is no more signage at the Monorail entrance to Magic Kingdom at the Transportation and Ticket Center.

There is also no face mask signage up near the loading area of the Transportation and Ticket Center, where the majority of people waiting for the Monorail were not wearing masks.

We also noticed the signage was gone over at the Monorail station at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

And, people waiting for the Monorail also didn’t have any masks on or with them that could be seen.

Once on the Monorail, we noticed many people were not wearing face masks anymore.

But, when we rode the Monorail later in the day, about half of the people in our compartment were choosing to wear face masks.

Riding it again, we didn’t see many people with masks on…

…but, on another trip, there were a few people wearing face masks.

Note that face masks signs are still up at the First Aid Centers in Disney World. Masks are not required if you’re just stopping in the front to grab something quick like a bandaid or ibuprofen, but they ARE required if you need to go into the back area or further inside the First Aid Center for any reason.
