A Fun-Filled Day at Epcot!

A Fun-Filled Day at Epcot!

This past week, we decided to make our way down to EPCOT for some fun and to check out what’s new! Join us for some construction updates, Flower and Garden food, and rides as we give Genie+ another shot!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: COSMIC REWIND

As we make our way into EPCOT, we are greeted by the massive Nova Corps Starblaster Ship outside of the soon-to-open  Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! This family-style thrill ride is the first Disney coaster to feature a reverse launch, and one of the largest enclosed roller-coasters in the world! On this attraction, you will join Groot, Rocket, Star-Lord, and Gamora as you race across the cosmos in an exciting pursuit to save the galaxy. Although this attraction doesn’t open until May 27th, Cast Member and Passholder Previews will be held a few weeks prior!

GENIE+ AND LIGHTNING LANE

Since we are just coming out of Spring Break time here in Florida, the wait times were still a bit high. We decided this would be a great opportunity to try out Genie+ again! If you are not familiar with Genie+, this is a paid add-on similar to Disney’s previous FastPass+ service. Genie+ costs roughly $15 per day per person, and allows you shorter wait times at select attractions throughout the parks. You must reserve a Lightning Lane reservation for the attraction you wish to experience ahead of time.

Although wait times weren’t horrible, we were able to breeze through 2 rides without having to wait hardly at all! For example, the normal wait time for Living With The Land was 25 minutes, but only 5 using Genie+! One thing to keep in mind, is that you are able to book another Lightning Lane reservation right after you scan your ticket for your current experience.

FLOWER AND GARDEN FOOD

As we were making our way out of the park, we decided to stop at the Farmer’s Feast booth for a quick bite! This time we went with the Herb-Crusted Spring Lamb and Strawberry Rhubarb Upside-down Cake. While the lamb itself was good, the marble potatoes and Red Wine-Butter Sauce were the standout of this dish. The Upside-down cake was also good, but the only thing we missed was more of a Strawberry flavor. Definitely do still recommend both of these dishes for the next time you’re in Epcot!

While the park was still a bit busy due to spring break, we still had a great time trying some food and riding some rides! There are a lot of exciting things coming to EPCOT in the next couple of months, and we can’t wait to come back!
