Hey, do you know which hotel no one talks about? Probably not, because no one talks about it! Okay, okay, we’re kidding, but really — we hear about Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort all the time, and even the All-Star Resorts are pretty popular. But what about Disney’s Old Key West Resort? It’s high time we pay a visit to this quiet little DVC resort and show you what it’s about!

If you’re unfamiliar with this hotel, Old Key West was the original Disney Vacation Club Resort. It was designed to feel less like a hotel and more like, well, home! Not only that, but a SUPER underrated restaurant know as Olivia’s Cafe is tucked away at this resort — try the Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken and thank us later. Now that you’ve got a little background, come with us as we tour a room at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

We stayed in a Deluxe Studio (room 3426), which had two queen-size beds, a small kitchen area, and a balcony.

Right when you enter, you’ll notice that this room doesn’t look quite like most standard Disney hotels. The room is pretty open and the layout is a little more nontraditional. We liked it!

There was plenty of beachy decor, like this Disney-insired art print, and the furniture reminded us of what you would see in a beach house. It was cozy, comfortable, and casual!

The walls were a light seafoam green-ish color, and there was plenty of natural light from the large windows and clear glass doors.

At night, though, all those windows close up, so the room gets nice and dark for bedtime.

The beds are nice and large! You get plenty of pillows (plus a few more in the closet), and there’s room under each bed for your luggage.

We’re definitely nitpicking here, but does it bother anyone else that the headboard extends past the bed?

And while we’re on the subject of nitpicking, we wish that those light fixtures could move just a smidge to the left. It’s off center! Other than that, though, our room was lovely.

In between the main bedroom and the bathroom is a small kitchen area with a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and coffee maker.

If you bring home any leftovers (maybe a Gideon’s Bakehouse cookie?), this is a great little area to keep your foods.

Not to start any drama, but we’ve seen a LOT of Disney World mini fridges in our time, and this one is definitely the biggest we’ve ever seen. (Even compared to some of the most expensive hotels in Disney World!)

Under the sink, you’ll find some paper towels, a trash can, and extra toilet paper.

Right across from the kitchen area is a small closet with all the things you’d expect to find in a closet: hangers, pillows, blankets, a luggage rack, and some cleaning supplies.

Finally, the bathroom! The bathroom is a nice size and is full of bright light.

There’s plenty of towels here…

..and over here! Sadly, there’s only one sink, but this is such a nice bathroom we’ll let it slide.

The shower is nice and spacious! Guests can use the Disney-provided soap, or bring their own; there’s a small shelf build into the shower for extra shampoos.

Finally, here’s a look at our little balcony! That table is teeeeeny tiny, but it fits the space. We had a nice view of the tennis courts and some pretty Florida palm trees.

That concludes our full tour of a deluxe studio studio room at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The room is spacious and welcoming, making it perfect for a small family looking for a quiet resort! Although this is known as a DVC hotel, anyone is welcome stay at the resort (you’ll just need to rent some DVC points for select rooms).
