Are you visiting Disney World soon? If you’re gearing up for your next trip, be sure you’ve checked out all the closures that might be going on during your vacation!
Disney World can change so quickly, and Cast Members and Imagineers are continually updating the rides, attractions, and hotels. To help you keep track of all the changes happening, we’ve got a full list here of everything that’s scheduled to be CLOSED in Disney World this week.
Let’s start out the list with Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom
A long-term closure is continuing in Magic Kingdom this week. The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for a couple of years now, and it still doesn’t have a reopening date.
Although some of the tracks have been replaced along the stretch from Fantasyland to the Main Street, U.S.A. station, we’ve noticed that parts of the track are still missing. It’s likely that the Railroad won’t open to guests until construction finishes up on the TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster in Tomorrowland.
Construction there interrupted the tracks, although we’ve seen a tunnel being built in the area that is likely for the Walt Disney World Railroad to pass through.
There isn’t an opening date for TRON yet either, so we’ll be looking out for more information!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Finding Nemo: The Musical is still closed. This attraction will reopen this coming summer as the NEW “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!”
We recently saw a preview of the new show, which gave some details about the set design, characters, and plot. Note that the new show follows the story of Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo. We can’t wait to watch the show when it premieres sometime in the next few months!

EPCOT
In World Showcase, Souk-Al-Magreb (a gift shop in the Morocco pavilion) has been closed for a long time. However, it disappears from the refurbishments calendar today (April 24th), so we’ll be on the lookout to see if it’s open when we visit next!
This shop has disappeared and returned to the calendar a couple of times, so we don’t know for sure that it’s back. We’ll let you know if we see it open soon.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid is still closed in Hollywood Studios, and this show doesn’t have a reopening date yet.
The popular nighttime show Fantasmic! is still closed as well. This show will return sometime in 2022, but we don’t have any specific details about the opening date yet.
We do know that when Fantasmic! returns, there will be some updates and changes to the show.
Character meet and greets have returned to normal in Hollywood Studios.
Disney World Water Parks
Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is closed for refurbishments at this time. Disney hasn’t announced when it will reopen, and the calendar does not show any opening times for the park through the middle of June at least.
However, Typhoon Lagoon (Disney’s other water park) is open at this time! So you can still head in to enjoy water rides, pools, and themed snacks.

Disney World Hotels
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is still open for guests to reserve rooms, but you may see or hear some construction going on during your stay. That’s because some refurbishments are being done to create 200 new DVC Resort Studios, which are located in the Big Pine Key building.
If you want to stay in the new rooms, you can book your reservations now. The rooms have a Mary Poppins Returns theme, with pastel colors and little details that nod to the movie. They’re expected to be ready in the summer of 2022.
Take a virtual tour of the new rooms here!
Hotel Pool Refurbishments
Some Disney World hotel pools are currently unavailable. At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, the Martinique Village pool is closed for refurbishment. The pool is expected to reopen in mid-April 2022. If you’re staying at this hotel, you can still visit one of the other pools located nearby!
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Samawati Springs Pool is closed. It will remain closed through April 2022, so we may see it open after this week. Guests at this hotel can head to the Uzima Springs Pool (also located at this hotel) instead.
The Cozy Cone Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort reopened last week, and now the Righteous Reef Playground is open as well!
That’s a wrap on our report of all the closures in Disney World this week. Keep following DFB for more updates as you plan your upcoming vacation.
