Digger Rolls Into Downtown Disney District Construction Site

Since the AMC Theater was completely demolished, there hasn’t been much to see beyond the colorful construction walls in Downtown Disney District. During our most recent trip, we could see a digger vehicle.

The digger was atop a hill of rocks, so it was clearly visible over the walls.

The Downtown Disney reimagining started with demolition back in February. Guests will be able to relax in a new grassy area, and there will be an event space.

For now, Disney is still taking care of the building rubble.

Some whale art was added to the construction walls.

The two works of art are inspired by original drawings by Wyland.

In November, Disney Parks Experiences and Products President Josh D’Amaro announced the reimagining of Downtown Disney District at Destination D23.

Above, you can see the concept art for the finished project.
